I am really surprised to find so much dissatisfaction amongst NIITians. My self also an ex- NIITian. Batch 1996-99 (not too old I suppose :-( ). Also an ex employe. 99-2003. After going thru the reviews posted here I felt most of the problems are regarding the financial aspects or change of curriculum or centres.
Here what is to be blamed are:
1.**Enrolment of GNIIT students at a centre which do not have GNIIT facilities.
Offering GNIIT to a student who is not a 3 year graduate or is not doing a 3(or more) years graduation. As a person who has not done a 3 years degree will not get GNIIT diploma. So at times a student has to downgrade! And feels cheated as he / she wont get the Professional Practice!
Incompetent Academic counselors: Who have prescribed courses whichwere not suitable for the student or were unable to explain itproperly**. Like one of my colleagues prescribed PAINTBRUSH to a professional who have come for doing Auto CAD! (At that time NIIT was not teaching Auto Cad)
*4. Mockery of aptitude test. They take an examination which everyone passes.
Knowledge of Good English for the student is a must which is againoverlooked by the staff members at the time of admission just tofulfill targets.
NIIT is good for only meritorious students who are outgoing and go getter too. So check it out yourself before joining.
*So check it all out properly before you enroll. Specially the 6th point. As NIIT is too aggressive in its marketing.
