I joined a 3-month course for Java in NIIT during my 2nd year of B-Tech. I think I was taken in by all the hype surrounding it at the time. Initially, the instructor was pretty OK...The course material was far from comprehensive, and the instructor does not deviate from the material, so it did not give me much of an advantage in terms of programming skills. The modules were supposed to be UML, HTML and java, and I think the first two were simply forgotten. The instructor left before the course was completed, and there was no competent person to take over the training. Of the 15 or so who attended the course, I believe only two or three--including me--took the test. I did a bit of self study... What was worse is the certification they gave--a simple printout that is useless to me. The whole Rs.7000 I paid was a loss...Yeah...the instructors are friendly, and the staff too, and there was a picnic I think..but that dint really help me much as far as learning java is concerned!!
