I needed a digital camera to reduce the bulk of all the printed photos that I have collected, merely because nobody ever looks at them, collects dust in a box under the bed. I wanted a camera with a good lens with zoom, for close photography.
Nikon coolpix 3200 is the best for my requirement. The megapixels are very misleading, for my kind of normal use, anything with 2 megapixel is enough. This will give a good print of 5x6 which is what we generally need. I went for the 3200 which has 3 megapixel effective and can produce good print of upto 8x10 which is more than what I needed. But I reckoned I might require to print enlarged photos sometime.
Nikon was going to put a stop to the production of 3200 so I figured I had to go in for the model immediately. I was waiting for the price to drop further but electronic companies know how to play the customers.
I bought the nikon 3200 for 13, 000, from Mavavir at Bajirao road, Pune, with 128 mb insert memory card , two chargeable batteries with charger, strap and standard accessories(cds, manual, usb cable, av cable). This camera already has 14.5 internal memory which is normally enough but for outings 128 mb comes in handy.
I compared all the digicams in this catagory but nothing to beat this. The lens is far superior. To test a digicam lens put it in macro mode and take a close up shot of the manual, holding it as close as 1.6 inches. After the snap is taken digitally zoom it, each letter will be crystal clear. Other camera produces hazy letterings.
This camera is a clear winner in its category, trust me.
