Arrroximately 2 years back I had to make a decision on buying a perfect camera for home use. My criterias are 1. Should be compact, 2. Cheap and 3. Maintainace cost.
I had 2 cameras in my mind. Coolpix 3200 and Canon Poweshot A75. After making few research and reading reviews in some sites, I decided to go for Powershot A75 till the moment I entered the shop. But after looking at the two models side by side, I instantly decided to go for Coolpix 3200. I was totally mesmerized by the size of this coolpix that I immediately picked one without giving a second thought and till today, I adore my reflexes for picking up this cutie.
To start with, this camera is very handy that it will fit in your palm. I could take it anywhere with ease. The edges are so somooth that I love touching it often. Unlike A75, where the edges are too sharp, this model looks pleasant. And moreover, it needs only 2AA batteries instead of 4 in canon.
Its not always true that, with great power comes great pictures. My camera can shoot better pictures than its competetors. Initially I used to worry when my pictures are not coming out good under certain circumstances. But later I learned that the fault is with me and not the camera. Once I took a crash course of photography, believe me or not, my camera takes excellent pictures that A75 or even A95.
Regarding the maintainance cost, Ive been using it for the past 2 years and hadnt faced any single issue till date. Well, that sounds a bit normal as every camera has a good lifetime atleast for 5 years.
The only issue I find odd is the time it takes to recharge the flash. Generally, in other models the recharge time is very small or even negligible. But it takes nearly 15 seconds to recharge the flash in my camera. This is really an issue when u wanna take continuous individual picutures.
Overall, this is the best camera I had ever see. Not to compare with the high end SLR cameras.
