Thw nikon d40 is an all new affordable compact point and shoot digital slr from nikon it follow on the d50 but at a signficantly lower price point with a subtly different features set the biggest news however is probably fact the nikon resisted the temptation to keep chasing magapixel hooray for that and instead appear to have concentrated on what make a good camera a decent viewfinder shorts overall this camera is superb.
