I purchased the D40 to have a smaller body to carry at times I did not want something larger. I didin’t want to give up the use of intechangeable lensers. Or I would have gone with a p6000 . The size and weight of the D40 lends itself to placing inside a small bag. The backpack or in the stroller. This camera takes fantastic pictures and is easy to use
