I’m still happy to use the D40. Just goes to show that the greats stay great. The D40 has a really nice 6MP sensor and an image pipeline that makes the most of it. Long battery life, accurate rear LCD, small and light. It has everything you need to go out and take photos, with minimal clutter. I use it these days either with the Sigma 30/1.4 HSM, or any of my manual focus Ai or F Nikkors.
