As far as the nikon line-up goes, the nikon D50 takes the cheese for being the most rugged, inexpensive, starter DSLR in the nikon line. With 6.1 Megapixels, The APS-C sensor in the camera does well for all basic shots. For a 10 year old model, the D50 does well with long exposures, portraits, landscapes, and many many more photos. The ISO is limited to 200, 400, 800, 1600. Shooting with 200 and 400 ISO, The pictures turned out good but the higher two settings cause large amounts of digital .
