3rd feb 2006, I bought a brand new Nikon F80 from Nikon’s shop that sells and also happens to be a service center. Hardly a week later I realized that there is spot on camera’s lens, I tried cleaning it with a soft cloth but no use. Although it didn’t affect my pictures but it was bothering me a lot since I have spent a huge amount. So I called the Sales Manager who did the paper work when I had bought F80. I told him that I would like to come over and get the lens cleaned, he replied “ Sir you don’t need to come for such small things, if you do like this then you will end up coming daily”. I was shocked because the day I bought camera he was saying that they would give me support.
When I went to him then he said that to clean that spot he needs to open the camera as it is little complicated and it will take time. So now I am confused that has he sold me the refurbished one.
While purchasing this guy said that since I am a beginner so I need to take snaps in the Program mode to get better results. I did the same but the results were under exposed even though I took snaps bright sunny day with a film role of 200 ASA.Again he started making excuses that I should have gone to a better shop to get my roles developed. Then he says that since the lens is of less aperture thats why the results werent good. He seems to be confused.
