I Bought this camera in year 2009, the same year in which it was born . If we talk about the same entry level cameras in the budget of 6500 INR, the NIKON L20 was considered the best at that time. It was my second experience with the digital camera but the first with automatic integrated settings which auomatically focuses the object and preview the info such as:
-shutter speed
-apperture
-mode
-battery empty(only)
-mode selection
-pictures remaining
-and Picture size(in MP)
-on Screen of 3.0 inch with 260k dots which displays the image efficiently bright and crispy but don’t get disheartened if fails to show with such brightness and crispy on your LCD screens .
You may get unexpected color preview in your pix if taken normally or in hurry, the only disadvantage.
I have tested all the entry level models in Fujifilm, Samsung, Sony, Nikon and Olympus and found PANASONIC LS85 and Nikon L20 the best. According to cameras.co.uk, the popular review & comparision site, the Nikon L20 gets more than expected Scores and rating is too good. Its equal to mid-range Sony TouchScreen T-series cameras which costs 15000INR and above.

The finished fabric feel body which is actually a plastic gives a lushy looks . Silver and Black colours are too good. Nikor Lens, the famous categorized lens, wide lens previews the pix of your whole ROOM /Hall if pix is taken at any edge of the room .

Different-2 modes have inbuilt specs which are used to taken pictures in any condition, whether it is Snowy season, Summer, winter, Indoor Pary, Farewells, Portrait or fireworks performing at ceremony . All these modes works automatically with different-2 specs .
Easy AutoMode can selects upto 5 scenes modes and can deliver you the best possible picture . Easy AutoMode can detect faces, can focus face and captures the human face as first priority . This Easy MODE is not so efficient and one cannot shoot pictures immediately one after another coz it first detects the condition and then sets the mode accordingly which took some few secs to get adjust . For this either use inbuilt scenes from those 16 scene modes or Auto Mode to which manual settings have been pre-adjusted.
In Auto Mode, the user can pre-adjust the settings with exposure compensation, Colour mode, condition mode, Flash mode and all these are set adjusted until user change it to some different settings and thus one can take pictures immediately one after another or CHOOSE CONTINUOUS shot mode which can shoot upto 10 continuous shot .
Motion detection provides image stablization which detets the moving objects and adjust the shutter speed to capture the best possible picture with 2x-anti blur technology .
Now let us end with the PROS .FACE detections upto 16 Faces and BSS i.e. BEST SHOt SELECTOR.ya this mode allows the user to deliver the 1 best picture taken from the 10 shots (upto 10).
Macro mode is quite efficient.just use it and you will know.
I love to use it but sometimes I blames when get lousy picture colouration . Otherwise it is quite good and ooooooofcourse .its NIKON.the leading company in Camera Manufacturers .You will get what you want . It stills the best among others in 2010.
