Okay its the weekend and you want to go out for lunch /dinner.You look at saravana Bhavan - the whole place is crowded and you are waiting list no 7. Then you go to another place and you dont get parking and then to another ...
I can really relate to all you guys out there who decide to go for a treat spontaneously only to find people already seated (as they have planned one week in advance and come sharply before it gets crowded). No a treat is meant to be spontaneous guys .It need not be planned in advance and scheduled and end everyone tense and worried abt reaching on time.
So the next time you are in the vicinity of Radhakrishnan Salai and the Hotel saravana bhavan is full and some political party is having its meeting at New Woodlands and you dont want to have pizza in pizza hut then you should try the Weeligton restaurant in Nilgiris Next which is above the Nilgiris departmental store.
You would find the place more or less empty as mostly the lodgers in the hotel eat here. They have good variety of tasty veg and non-veg food on offer .Their soups are tasty and we made a good start with tomato soup. The main course was north indian stuff like nan and panner palak etc which was all very tasty.
The deserts were good too and the overall ambience of the place is excellent with pictures from ooty and Welligton adorning the walls of the restaurant.the customer service is up to the mark though sometimes it takes a bit long for the food to arrive.I like the green colour which marks the ambience and the relaxing loneliness in contrast to the crowd in other restaurants.
So for one of those days when you want to have a tasty supper far from the madding crowd Nilgiris Nest is the place to be.
