During my recent trip from UK, I got my Wii for around 160 pounds. I only main reason I got this was due to the feeling, physical experience you get when playing. I bought a black colored Wii so that it matches all of the other appliances at home.
The Wii comes with a Video game console, a remote with motion plus and a nunchunk. The package also has 2 dvds Wii sports and Wii resort. I also bought an extra remote and nunchunk to multiplayer gaming.

The experience
Words cannot describe it. I am not saying that you will have a real world similarity but it is quite close. The remote with motions plus along with nunchunk gives an awesome experience. Just imagine, you sweat when play boxing, good physical and mental exercise too. This kind of experience you cannot get it in any other game console.
The Wii makes you feel more like a player than just a character controller. For example in sword fight like in Prince of Persia, you do not press a button to swing the sword, you swing the remote. Its the same for any other game. For instance in golf you swing the club. Wii lets you to be a part of the game. This is where the money worthiness comes to picture.
Wii has a good number of game collection. It also supports games from previous versions. Some of the best games are Mario bros, mario galaxy, monster trio, samurai warriors, the list is end less. Most of these games start from age rating 3+. So it means the game console is for family and not just crazy teens. You also get fitness plus and just dance which helps you to remain fit and ... enjoy.
The only issue that I see is that the remote can be fit into many different game control cases like steering wheel, gun, golf club etc. So you keep spending to buy all these. Wii package games graphics are a bit low end. Thats one con I feel should be improved.
Well, all in all it is a very good game console, worth the buy!!!
