Here is a very authentic review about Nirma Institute of Technology, from which I graduated in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication in 2001.
First goes the pros:-
1] The infrastructure cant get better. ive visited IIT, all the best engineering colleges in Gujarat and am currently doing my MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. Take my word.
2] The academic rigour is definitely the most talked about thing. Rest assured to be trained in the best academic manner possible.
3] Disciplined faculty members, most of whom are a class in themselves. Considering 2 of my lecturers are currently working at IIT as lecturers.
4] I bet you would want the library to be your home.
5] The adjoining MBA course lets you interact with MBA students.
6] Neat and clean, huge and self-service canteen. with food available at half the rates at which im currently living on at NMIMS. :)
7] Xerox Centre at the library itself is a boon.
8] Last but not the least the standard of the students is really high. Dont enter the campus if you are looking for loitering around. It is a place meant for students high on the intelligence and keen on the utility factor of their brains.
9] Sweet simple Bus to carry you to college and back to your home.
No place in this world can be perfect. so, here are the minus points:-
1] The discipline is rigid - you wont have the option of utilising the time the way you want. you would have to attend the lectures (Which apparently I hated) even if you rather wanted to sit in the library and read an useful article. (which I apparently loved). I also ended up bein punished severly for missing the necessary attendance.
2] Since the college is located on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, about 15 kms from the city limits, transport is a problem if you miss your bus
3] Since it is such a vast campus at times, if you are physically weak you will get tired moving from one place to other place.
baki sab thik hai. :)
nirma zindabad!!
