A movie of high aspiration less homework

This movie claims to be based on famous classic ‘Lolitha’ of Vladimir Nabakov. This is really surprising to see someone aspiring to be associated with a writer like Nabakov. Lolitha, seamlessly depicts the backdrop of protagonists’ emotional orientation. It is an splendid painting of extravaganza of emotions, sentiments, relationships and ofcourse human character. It does not give justification for falling in for a girl of nimble age. It reasons that it is not for the girl; it was the relentless attraction for innocence, simplicity and bluntness of woman hood.

The protagonist has spent his entire life in the search of these attributes of womanhood. So where is the depiction of such subtle nuances of human emotions in Ram Gopal Verma’s Nishabd? One can not be respected for exacting the age of the protagonists with that of Nabakov’s protagonists.

The movie lacks an idea. It has been made as if it has nothing to say.

The only attraction is Amitabh Bachchan. Some credit may be given to the debutant Zia Khan, who appears confident in front of camera, even in her first attempt. So on the whole, Nishabd is a movie of high aspiration, low homework.
