Date of purchase : 25 / 07 / 2013
On road cost in Bangalore : 6.72 Lakhs.
Important points :
Does not have passenger airbag. Only driver airbag unlike the top-end Micra Active which costs much lesser.
Has Bluetooth connectivity. Phone gets hooked up automatically after pairing once. Contacts and last call logs also get synced the moment you enter. You can also play music via Bluetooth. One can also control the Bluetooth playback (forward, previous etc) using the music system. This means you dont have to take your phone or other music device out from the pocket or purse to play music. Very convenient. Not available in the Micra Active in any of the variants.
Has start button for ignition and a very convenient key less entry system. All you need to do is keep the key in your pocket or bag and press a switch to unlock the car. The usual remote unlock using a key from a distance is also available. Very convenient again. You dont need to keep taking out the key to open and close the car.
Does not have climate control, unlike the outgoing version.
Does not have electrical outer rear view mirrors. They are completely manual on both sides.
All four windows are power windows.
Conclusion : Overall, the car looks very nice. Interiors are good too. Good pickup but suspension is not great for Indian conditions. Bluetooth, push button and key-less entry features are really good but many features have been stripped off the outgoing model.
Major complaint : Had booked the outgoing Micra but waited for the new model and booked it on assurances from the salesman that this model is loaded with features. Could not verify because the spec was not out when the model was launched. If you care about features and safety but not so much about style and interiors and want to save money, go for the active, which is the cost-cut version of the outgoing Micra,
