Having owned a Nissan Bluebird it was a natural choice to buy the Sunny Diesel Car No MH12 KE 3441.
With over 25 years of driving experience I will outright state that the car is a Dangerous one with inbuilt faults. My car is about 9 months old and despite complaints over 25 in number no one has bothered to contact me from Nissan. It was only by chance I met the engineers and had a scrap at the workshop but all you get is a brazen attitude coupled with a dumb technical team at Shivalik Nissan Pune.
Why the car is dangerous?
The car has uncontrolled acceleration when, you drive steadily between 40-60 kimph and rpm around 1150 and 1250 rpm. That means, even if you leave the accelerator the car may not slow down most of the time and tends to hit the front vehicle . This is very dangerous at ghat sections and turnings. I must state that this problem is noted around 40-50% of the time. It is only in India such things go on. Toyota had to pay 1.2 Bn USD for hiding uncontrolled acceleration. But that was for floor matting issue. Here it is a serious engine failure.
The brake pads were found disintegrating and you may observe the black powder settling on the front rims. Even a change of new pads could not make the braking powerful. I had to fight to get this under warranty
The Windscreen acts like a mirror and brings the dash board on to it as a screen saver. If you drive in certain weathers you may not see certain objects and you could be confused. Many a times I would have hit a rick overtaking from the left side. All said and done there is eye strain too.
From a fantastic average of 23.4 in the city it dropped to 16.1kmpl after the first service. I manged to solve it not the dealer - Faulty filter . Coz it is the only thing those nuts changed. Two months and they could not locate the reason.
My rear shocks leaked and the dealer changed them promptly- No complaints
It is 15000 kms now and 9 months and now the car is rough and noisy.
Nissans issue is its staff. I have made more than 25 complaints in all dealer included. Till now there has been no reply andam considering a PIL on the Ceo to STOP production as its has a danger of uncontrolled acceleration. Nissans representative has a great solution to uncontrolled acceleration APPLY BRAKES. In a months time I am going to carry a sticker DONT BUY SUNNY along with 7 other guys who are facing trouble with their Sunnys. If our courts dont punish you they wont also take your defamation cases on us seriously.
Its sad after paying all the money these idiots dont care. They think they can take Indians for a ride.As far as social obligations I am going to carry the sticker DONT BUY NISSAN SUNNY ON MY CAR .
I am not writing this for my sake but so that people may be aware. I dont say dont buy this car. Its a good car as such but NISSAN SHOULD BE CLEAR ON THE DANGERS.Not saying that that other car manufactures are saints.
