This complaint is regarding unhealthy business practices followed by marikkar automobiles and NiSSAN INDIA.
My self Alosius from Sakthikulangara, Kollam . I am a business man. Worked many years abroad and I used many costly vehicles. During 2012 I planned to buy a Sedan type car for my family trips. I have other vehicles for my business purposes. I checked many vehicles. My abroad life had created a strong brand loyalty towards Toyota and Nissan because of durability and reasonable service cost.
I came to know about Nissan Sunny is available in Indian market and requested for a test drive. Nissan don’t have sale or service outlet at kollam. But Marikkar Sales executives Operated my enquiry from traivandrum . They came to kollam with a brand new car for test drive. It was a Brand new car seats are covered with plastic foils. Me and my three friends took test drive on that car. We faced clutch jerking issues during test drive. Executive claimed that don’t worry about the clutch, this is brand new vehicle did not completed EVEN the PDI. Odometer was disconnected. I questioned regarding the ethics of giving a brand new car for test drive and selling to customer an used car. Executive convinced me that this car came as demo car it is not for customer ….i finalized the deal and car was delivered to me on18 dec 2012
My ordeal begins started from there. My faith on Nissan had become a big question mark?. I realized that I had been fooled by marikkar automobiles and Nissan INDIA. Within 3000 kilometers the clutch disk has been burned and vehicle got dead during a family a trip. We continued the trip using a rented cab and Marikkar motors took my car in a lorry. The car was not movable at all.
The response from dealer was quite shocking as per their investigation the clutch disk has been burned due my amateur driving …. I really felt upset on their comments. Because clutch disk of a car using for driving school purpose will last more than 3000 kms. All my cars clutch disk lasted for more than 60000+. This car was not chauffer driven. it is just for my personal use only. I made a detailed investigation about the dealer and NISSAN india. The information I got from friends circle was shocking
Nissan India Operations are in a primitive stage
Nissan was not giving demo cars to all dealers. test drives are conducted on brand new vehicles only
Quality of NISSAN is very poor than Middle East and other countries. Indian Nissan has no build quality

The vehicle delivered to me was shipped on Sep 2012 and billed to me on dec
The vehicle was used for more than 50 test drives
I asked dealer to give me manufacturing date of my vehicle. When I started asking such details they changed their attitude and replaced the clutch disk for free instead of rs 20000). I was about to move legally against the dealer and Company. But I don’t have a valid evidence for the findings I had made through my friends circle. I got used with my cars short comings. One more thing I remember I saw a brand new Nissan sunny which is taken by my relative from cochin dealer. that car was too clean and shiny interiors exteriors . My cars interior and steering wheels hand break lever was faded when I received it. So it was quite sure that dealer sold an used car to me.
Another persisting issue of all Nissan india cars are back pain after long drive. Nissan sunny and terrano having same issue. The lumbar support and seating positions are very poor in Nissan vehicles.
Meanwhile they changed many components like shock absorber during the extended warranty period.many times I repaired my AC( paid repairs during extended warranty). Still the AC complaint is persisting.
During 2015 I noted itching on my palms .itching will occur occasionally and it ll vanish automatically. I noticed that my steering wheel leather coating is getting worn and is peeling. Pealing happened on the areas where we grip the steering. I informed the same to marikkar on next service . they promised to take care of it before dec 2015. Mean while my palm itching increased and consulted a doctor . he gave some steroid based ointments for a temporary relief. One day during a family trip my car was driven by my friend after the trip he found same itching on his palms too. He made me realized that my vehicles steering wheel is like a waste taking truck . many areas of steering wheel got worn and peeled off it looks ugly the chemical reaction of low quality leather used in Nissan car is the root cause of my palm itching. I got the reply from Nissan that I had used the steering more than their calculation. my vehicle clocked 60000 kilometers only. They simply blamed me for not putting a steering wheel cover from the beginning. Reality is I don’t use steering wheel covers as it may feel like thick steering wheel. After multiple inspection of my vehicle dealer and Nissan authorities they asked me to pay rs 6000+ to change my steering wheel.
Brief conclusion of my Nissan experience
Nissan Delivered a Car which has been used for Test drive
Clutch disk become faulty because of such over usage during test drive
They might have cleaned my vehicle with cleaning agents to remove dust and dirt happened during test drives
Steering wheel contained leather grip hence it become worn out soon
I challenge Nissan to provide details of vendors who supplies steering wheel. What are the quality checks conducted by Nissan . provide me details of shipping vehicle and why its kept unsold till Dec 2012.
I sent several complaints to dealer and company . they are not responding. I seek any kind of intervention from your end to resolve my issues. Kindly accept my pray. Such low quality vehicles should be banned from selling in india
