A Great Fresh Debut

Although this is their first debut album, this was the last album I got from No Doubt which now completes my collection!

I have now got all four! This is a fresh sounding group who in a way sound ahead of their time as far as maturity goes.

This album I paid £6.99 in total from 101cd.com which was a bargain as the older album are quite expensive so its a good idea to shop around first!

There are 14 songs on the album. The first is more of a Intro which involves the use of instruments such as the trumpet in a Ska style!

The next song begins progressivly and sound rather like a gameshow intro then along comes Gwens great voice! Ache the next track is a great song.

Good use of Guitars etc through out and most songs are really uptempo with the use of brass troughout but in a good way!

Sad for me is a rather old fashioned period sounding song to start off with which adds a contrast Gwen uses her voice in a more softer way here.Doormat then gain pace once again.

One of my faves on the album is trapped in a box, one if maybe the only song off the album which was released. which is great with the piano sound and gwens screaching is great.

Sometimes is then a rather slower mellower song with I think a clarinet to start off with this song is rather catchy and is great.

The watery sounding Sinking is next followed by a little somethingrefreshing with a rather fast talking/singing section!

I mean Literally! the song is called A Little Something Refreshing! Then comes Paulina, which is my fave as its rather strange as it includes what seems like a voice through a phone!

Finishing off the great album is Brand new Day, which carries on the theme of the intro which rounds it off nicely, a great end to a Brill album.

This album wont Be out of place in anyones Cd collection and I highly recommend this to No Doubt fans!
