No Mans Land won over Lagaan in Oscars and, its religion to watch why our movie lost to it.. So despite, this movie being in a foregin langauge (Subtitled in English), I watched it and in the end, I felt this movie deserved an oscar. <p> So, coming to the story, two soldiers, one from serbia and one from bosnia get into a situation where both of them are trapped in between ememy lines. And, both of their sides doesnt know, which side the soldiers are from. Eventually, they can’t let them escape from there, or kill them. So they call in the UN. The story sounds very serious, and this is a serious movie, but then the situations are very funny. well, the soldiers dont become friends, they actually try to kill each other. but then they cant because they need the other person to get themselves out of the situation. They also share a gun between themselves ;-) . As the gun changes hands the person who has the command changes. In one situation, the bosnian soldier has the gun so he makes the serbian soldier accept that serbia is the main culprit for seria-bosnian conflict. But then when the gun changes hand he makes the bosnian soldier accept bosnia was the culprit.. There are a lot of funny situations like this. </p> <p> Thers an other soldier too with them. He is in an even more tricky situation which is very sad, and also funny. If u wonder how can a sad thing can be funny, watch the movie. </p> <p> The movie was serious only for a good fifteen minutes in the end which leaves you shocked. A real amazing ending. </p> <p> The story is very simple, which gave the director some time to explain the bosnian-serbian conflict. And 80% of the movie is shot in a trench. The director must be really brilliant. He made a very good movie with just 10 people and a trench. may be our Sanjay Leela Bhansali can take some tips from him. </p> <p> So if you can get a copy of this movie, go for it. I wonder if u can get a copy of this movie in India. But you can get it at Blockbuster store in USA in foreign langauge category. </p> Watch it and let me know how u liked it.
