What makes the Nokia 1100 a wonder are not the features in general, but the features you get for the price you pay. It is still a basic phone from Nokia without advanced features like WAP, GPRS etc.
Following are the significant features of the 1100.
1.The phone is really compact without external antenna.
2.The battery is excellent and can be used for two days without recharging while talking upto 40 mins.
3.250 names can be stored in the SIM memory and 50 in the phone memory.
4.Language options like Hindi etc are available.
5.36 preset and 7 composable/downloadable ringtones are present.
6.Separate ringtone can be assigned for alert ringtone or to a specific number.
7.6 ringtone profiles can be be created based on incoming call, alert tone, vibration on/off, rhythmic backlight or silent ringtone with vibration alone.
8.Under Settings menu, Call Divert, Automatic redial, Speed dialling etc are present.
9.Two games are present. Space impact is really good with several stages.
10.A calculator is present with exchange rate storage.
11.Ringtone composer and stopwatch are present.
12.A fairly good flashlight is present (good for finding theater seats!)
13.SMS chat, picture messaging and sending ringtones are possible.(distribution list is present)

SMS tips:
To go to a new line press ’*’, ’^’ and ’-’ keys in succession.
While inserting special characters use ’2’, ’4’, ’6’ and ’8’ number keys for four way navigation.
Create a smiley with your name, for inserting, if two persons use the same phone.

For redial press ’^’ and press ’-’ successively.
To save a received call in the phone list go to Call Register> Received Calls> Options> Save and allot a name for the number
