Nokia 1100 - the boon for starters.
I brought this new nokia cell 7 months back when its bit new and the price is 5000. Now the mobile is avilable for 2700
Itself and the price reduction has happenned just in 7 months. This shows the popularity and sales of the mobile, even though
Its not very beautiful. The other reviews have already thrown more light on this mobile so I keep my review short and I would
Like to tell some rare infos in the mobile.
Review:
1.Torch
This is a pucca indian mobile coming with a torch. The 2100 is called tubelight bcos it glows fully, But once when I had a power cut in my home, I came to know that 1100 is the real torchligh\compact emergency light and 2100 is not even a small LED bulb. My friend had 2100, we sat on floor nearby and 1st, I projected my mobile with torch on, to the Ceiling, the light was fair enough, and we could see the fan in ceiling. we did the same with 2100, we could see nothing.....
2.Battery
This mobile has an this ultra modern oval shape battery, so no need for local low qual battery if replacing. This type of sleek modern and efficient battery is a rarity in low cost starter mobiles.
3.The Phone
This mobile has a bit loud speaker and heat is also less for long hours, so our ears can be coooooooooool
Voice quality is ok but not bad.
4.Other features.
Battery life is good for 2-3 days on usage and for 4 days with non usage, ie no calls for 4 days.
Composer is cool. Keypad is a dust proof membrane type.
Negatives.
The backlit color[green] is not an everyones favourite and in outdoors we dont know when the backlit is on and off.
The buzzer tone is ugly, that means its like a buzzer. If you hear samsung rd220 the buzzer tone wil be bit like a flute and is pleasant, whereas 1100s tone is sometimes horrible for some tunes, anyway it has 7 composer memory while most has 2 or 3.
This mobile ALSO has PC connectivity, the port is hidden inside the battery, the Flat cable connecters will be available in radio markets for some 200 Rs and Oxygen software can be used to dload/upload SMs, tones, ect.
The Theft license and 2 year national warranty is also a plus but producing proof for theft is trouble some, instead one whould buy a new mobile.
1100 has 3 bugs as I know and seen:
- When u play a tone in composer, sometimes the vibrator also will vibrate, even u r in composingmode. Go outof composer mode and come in again, it will be ok.
2, Again in composer, some times the tone will not play fully.Play again, the very next time, this will be ok.
3.When u get a call, and press to speak, the display will get corrupted for a while and after few secs it will refresh Properly.
