I am using this mobile set for 6 months which I purchased as my 2nd mobile. I was planning to buy a cheap handset with most basic features of talking and sms-ing. The looks of this mobile attracted me and I purchased a blue coloured set. It was almost a myth that Nokia’s low priced phone are excellent in performance.
But I got a shock of my life after going for this set. The most disturbing feature of this set is that its speaker is very loud and causes extreme pain to ears but when you tend to reduce the volume the volume of mike reduces too. This means that both speaker and the mike are fitted with same controller this means if you feel pain in your ears and reduce speaker volume your mike volume reduces too and the person you are talking with cannot hear you as the volume of mike has reduced too.
Even the loudspeaker is also not good and surprisingly not as loud as the speaker. This is the greatest drawback of both Nokia 1202 and 1203. In its advertisement Nokia suggested this mobile is meant for Rural people does that mean all village people are Deaf or having hearing problem. The only 3 goody I found about this set are-
The Battery Life is good as promised.
the Torch is really Good.
The Rubberished Dust-proof Keypad is very nice for sms-ing / typing.
As this Basic Entry Level hanset is primarily meant for talking and sms-ing I suggest anybody who intend to buy it kindly don’t waste your money.
