Nokia 1600 is one of best ever mobile phones!
It is a no-nonsense mobile phone. People use mobile phones for two main purposes - talking (obviously) and sending SMS. This phone wonderfully performs both tasks.
Now why I like this model.
Sound quality and reception - very good, strong signal reception.
Battery power - I need to change it only once in 5-6 days interval! That’s amazing. Nothing troubles me than charging mobile phones every (or even every alternate) day. Since this phone does not have too many gizmos like camera, MP3 player, bluetooth, radio etc. it does not consume too much battery power.
Design - no joystick! I hate joysticks in mobile phones. They are difficult to operate with phone cover, accumulate dusts and nuisance. This phone has 4-way scroll button which performs all the tasks efficiently. All keys have similar size (some fancy phones have bigger buttons for some numbers and smaller for other numbers - irritating)
Demo mode - as good as carrying a phone manual in the phone itself. It shows all the basic tasks in video mode within the phone.
Navigation - fast, easy and customizable.
Built in speaker phone (good quality sound).
An alarm facility - which you can set on which days it should ring (good to make it off during weekends)
Vibration mode - easy to toggle between general and silent mode
Nice collection of polyphonic ringtones. You can even compose your own music!
Things which crave for:
No calendar
SMS - allows 918 character in an SMS, but it sends them as multiple SMSes - so be careful
Lack of microphone - no recording facility.
