Yesterday I purchased NOKIA 1600 handset which had a coloured screen and a very clear display with lots of regular and new features. I switched over from Samsung R220 to this new handset. Firstly I would like to write that in only one year I was eager to get rid of my Samsung R220 handset. Though the looking of that set was good but rest there was nothing. A very slow ring tone, which you can not hear if you are in travel OR the handset is at distance. Moreover, many dealers told me that this handset’s software is very outdated and nobody prefers to take this phone. And I found that it was very difficult for me to get a second hand buyer for that handset. However finally I got one.
My choice for my second handset was restricted to NOKIA make only due to various reasons suggested by my friends who were using NOKIA handsets since long. So I asked the dealer to show me only the NOKIA handsets in a range of 3000 to 4000. He showed me only three sets 1110, 1600 and 3100. 1110 was a modified version of 1100 and 1108 with a new feature ’’Jago India Jago’’ - means talking alarm and also the display was golden with black background. But before I make a selection, my seven year old son picked NOKIA 1600 which was quite attractive among the three. It was in black body and colour display. Dealer listed me the features of that handset and I struck the deal in Rs. 3750/-. Some of the features include talking alarm and clock in six Indian languages, light weight (85 grams), stylish design, polyphonic ring tones with MP3 grade sounds, icon based phone book, good looking keypad, screen saver, wallpaper, themes, up to 60 SMS storage capacity reminders etc. etc.
At the first instance, I found this handset quite attractive, good looking and quite reasonable in price. I hope I will get better results in coming days when I will use it extensively.
