I really wanted this cell so I donated my Nokia 1200 to my brother :) and bought this cell in haste, expecting it to be the ultimate phone for my needs! But it turns iout that it aint that great after all!
The good:
- The battery life of this phone is AMAZING! Much more than nokia 1200 or 1208! Thats coz its got
the battery BL 5C (which is usually used in high-end Nokia sets and was in Nokia 1100 too) which really lasts u very looooooooooooongggggggggg! I recharged on 17th and it lasted me till 23rd with below average usage....
Its got FM, torch, call timer (similar to the one in Nokia 1200/1208).
Its got NUMBER SCREENING (similar to the one in Nokia 1200/1208). Lets say u have
a very pesky annoying girlfriend whos callin u all the time and sending obscene msgs :D
What do u do? Just put her number on the Screened numbers list. Now whenever she messages
you, ALL her messages will BYPASS the Inbox and land in the Screened Messages folder and you
wont even know it until u check your Screened Messages folder!! Thats bcoz your phone will NOT give u ANY indication that a new msg has arrived....her msg will quietly and secretly just land in the Screened msgs folder. Cool na? And if she calls u, again u will not get ANY alerts...no ringing, no vibration, no lights either......but ull just see "GF calling" on the screen, which will be visible to u only when theres light and not in darkness as the screen wont light up at all.....
The bad:
Again, similar to Nokia 1200/1208, this phones speaker volume is not too loud but its just OK. And u can listen to FM only when the headset is attached to it.
Torch light is much LESS brighter and illuminates less area than the one in Nokia 1200.
After a few weeks of usin the phone, Im havin a STRANGE problem....Im jhearing a very high-pitched "teen" kind of noise whenever Im calling someone. On researching on the Net, I found that a few Nokia N95 and high-end sets also have this problem. Now I dont know what to do?
Any suggestions are welcome....btw Im now lookin for a CHEAP new phone which has GPRS and supports Java...kindly give ur suggestions...
