A Good phone for budget

I’ve been using this baby for a month now and I must admit its impressive and value for money. But since you are reading this to’know’ if this is the mobile that suits you I think its only fair to lay the cards clearly on the table.

LOOKS -

PROS:

Sleek and Slim. The plastic on the back has a’matte’ finish which gives a good grip. On the right is the external memory card slot - which is good cos you can change them anytime w/o having to remove the battery cover. The top has the 3.5mm jack, the USB slot and the charger slot.

CONS:

NO volume control on the side which means u hav to use the Navi keys to control volume -which can be quite annoying during calls. The keypad is flat, I’d personally prefer each character button raised so that I can feel them when I msg. These are personal preferences of course

PERFORMANCE -

PROS:

The ear piece clarity and reception are fantastic. For a person like me who listens to heavy music on my ipod, the ear piece sound is smile bringer cos its very clear and loud enough even for my’partially’ deaf ears. I talk extensively over the phone and the instrument doesn’t terribly heat up even after an 1-2 hrs - just warm. The phone comes with a 3.5mm jack which means u can plug-in ur local stereo phones as well. Great clarity screen - with 240x320 res. The buttons are’clicky’ and feel great to use tho it might seem a lil sensitive. The battery backup is quite good with almost 2.5 days of backup with regular use. The overall features are great and value for money.

CONS:

Tho the cam is 2.0 MP it takes lousy pics(try a Sony Eric phone with 2.0 MP cam and u’ll see the difference); the phone slows down when u fill up the mem card, the external speaker could have been a little bit louder; and the speaker is placed on the battery cover - which means, if u happen to keep the cell on a pillow or a bed, the sound/ringtone is muffled. The USB cable is not included in the kit, u have to buy it separately at a whooping 400 odd bucks per cable!(No, u cant use your regular USB cable).

VERDICT:

Honestly speaking this a fantastic’basic’ phone(the emphasis being on’basic’). While the basic features of this phone are really top notch, the multimedia side could have been better - not that I am complaining, cos I dont think you’ll get multimedia savy sets at this range anyway. Plus, as always, Nokia’s user friendly GUI and features will win you over any other set in this range. I recommend this phone to people who are not that multimedia savy but want a reliable set for long and frequent usage. You wont be disappointed. Cheers:P
