After reading a lot of reviews in different websites I bought Nokia2700 classic. I would say that this is a value for money phone. I bought it for Rs4000. I got the phone, headphone with mic, charger and 1gb memory card. Spend Rs 100 more on USB cable. So it’s Rs4100.
While I was searching for a phone in websites my search criteria were:
Sound Reception (The primary use of any phone)
1 or 2 gb memory (for music)
Good battery.
Value for money. Don’t want to waste money on just a phone
After using it for a couple of weeks the experience is not bad.
First the good ones:
- Very easy to use(The menu, selecting contacts, making calls, etc etc)
2.Sound reception is good. Mine is "idea" connection. You all know that idea is very noisy with lot disturbance.
3.Music is good. But the phone has nothing to do with the quality of the music. I bought a headphone (creative EP830) which produce very good quality music. Spend Rs. 800(gray market) extra for this. If anybody knows better headphones under Rs.1000 please let me know.
1 GB memory is enough to store 150+ songs and a few images.
Surprisingly, the 2mp camera is not that bad. It takes good pics in day light. Even the pics taken in poor lighting conditions are not that bad. But I’m okay since camera was not my major requirement
Phone looks good and it’s easy to hold and carry.
It’s very easy to copy files from computer to phone.
The problems I noticed were:
1.The battery lasts just about 2 days when I use it for 1 or 1.5 hours making/receiving calls + 2-3 hours of playing music every day. I expected it to last for 3 days (Am I too much greedy lols)
2.Typing sms is very difficult as the key pad is very hard to press. So heavy texters don’t buy this phone.
Occasionally (very rare) I hear a strange noise which last only for a fraction of second during the call. But it’s negligible.
It heats up a little bit if you are on a call for more than 30 - 45 minutes.
To summarize, it’s a value for money phone with lot of features. If you don’t want to spend lot of money for just a phone which can take pics, play music and store your data, go for it.
