Best In Its Class

This is perhaps the best phone in its class. I would like to tell you why this phone is a winner.

First of all, to all those planning to buy a cell phone, let me tell you that Nokia phones are the most user friendly. The only major drawback of Nokia phones is that they have VERY LESS MEMORY as compared to their counter parts in Samsung.

I purchased this phone for Rs. 6900/- (June 2004 i.e. one year back) with bill, warranty and one year insurance. Today, its price is Rs. 4800/-

I would not give any technical descriptions about this phone as they are available on the official nokia site: https://nokia.com or https://nokia.co.in

The phone has a right hand key which is customizable. You can use it to access either contacts or your own personal short cuts. The T9 dictionary is such that you can add your words into it. This feature is not available in Samsung, LG and Sony-Ericsson phones. Like if you use your name or a place’s name very frequently, you can add it into its dictionary. The message memory is quite good. I have around 150 SMS in my phone. This is a fixed memory. On top of that, you can even use its shared memory (which is only 750 KB) to store SMS in the calendar as a note. But for this, you will have to sacrifice your phone’s shared memory which itself is very low. You can also create your folders in the text messages menu. Again this feature is absent in Samsung phones. You can store your favorite messages over here rather than your inbox. MMS is supported. The maximum size of one MMS is 45KB. You can even send ring tones in addition to wallpapers (This was not present in 3530). The best part about contacts is that you can copy them from SIM card to phone and vice a versa. This will be helpful when you need to change your phone. So, instead of entering all of them again, you can simply copy the contact numbers. You can set different ring tones for various groups like Family, Friends, Other, Business and VIP. These groups’ names can be changed. In the gallery where you store your wallpapers and ring tones, you can create your own folders in addition to the existing ones. You can download them through GPRS. This is a bit costlier option. If you go for a data cable, then it would cost you around Rs. 300/- and then you can transfer things fro your PC by connecting it to the USB port. I have not tried option so far. But it works for this phone (It does not work for 6610i). The site for GPRS is tatgtag.com. In the Calendar menu, you can store notes, reminders and even birthdays. You can even set the ring tone for alarm clock. Games available with the phone are snake (My favorite), beach rally and bowling. You can delete all these games, ring tones and wallpapers to make space for the ones you download. And you will have to. The wallpapers and ring tones available with the phone are not good. The RINGING VOLUME is a BIT LOW. You might not be able to hear them in noisy places. So, you will have to keep it in Vibration + Melody mode. Even the vibrator is not that strong. The vibrator in 3610 is perhaps the strongest I have seen. As such there’s no major drawback in this phone. The body is okay. The best part of the phone I like is the keypad. You can type the messages very fast. The number keys 1-2-3 appear on the same panel. So is the case with numbers 4-5-6 and 7-8-9. It’s very comfortable and easy to use.

The only thing where the phone loses to Samsung’s phones is memory space. It has only 750 KB whereas Samsung phones in the same price range have a whooping 9 MB.

In the end, I would expect you to rate my review.
