I am back after a long delay.sorry b’coz I din’t have to write about.well I bought this phone for my dad hence thought about writing a review on it.
My dad had a Nokia 3310 before and thought it was high time for a change because of the small font the 3310 had.
Had to do a lot of scrutiny before deciding on this. Now let’s talk about the fone.
*1. Looks
*When I saw this for the first time in the net, I had decided this has to be the fone for my dad. Just loved the black, glossy look of the fone. It has a big keypad, good navi button, nice screen, ergonomics etc.
Looks very sleek and light on the pocket as it weighs only about 87 g.
*2. Build
*The fone is very solidly built. It has a rubbery portion at the
back that gives you gr8 grip. It has no creaks(not expecting any
also). The big keypad makes dialing and messaging a breeze. But quick
typers will take some time to adjust b’coz of spacing between keys. The
navi key is very good and functional.
*3. Features
*This fone might be light on the outside but on the inside it is LOADED!. It has a 1.3 mpx camera that takes decent enough pics, FM Radio, bluetooth, exp memory upto 2GB, huge that can store 2000 nos, decent sound quality etc.
The best part is that it runs on the Nokia Series40 interface that is very customizable, user friendly and less prone to software issues.
The fone has a feature of voice commands which one can use rather than searching through the phone menu. For example, if one needs to switch on the FM(headset should be plugged), just say "Radio ON". But voice recognition takes some time to get used to. A gr8 feature in my opinion for a budget fone.
I have put a 64MB mem card which I got when I bought my Nokia 6233(will write on that too.) so no probs for space as it is for my dad who is not into much of songs, themes n stuff.
The phone comes with 9 MB int memory which is higher than my 6233 which has only 6 MB.
*4. Connectivity
*This fone provides all the basic connectivity options to the user. It has Bluetooth, Infrared and Mini USB. Sadly, Nokia doesn’t provide a data cable neither a PC Suite CD.
5. Battery
This fone has a good battery backup of about 2-3 days standby. But all car chargers, be prepared to change your chargers b’coz Nokia has given a smaller charging slot than the conventional one.
Overall, this fone is good buy for all the budget oriented users.
