Fantastic little phone

Right lets face it, all a phone needs to do realistically is to make and recieve calls. However we also know that as technology evolves a product has to have that little extra to get you buying it over a compettitor.

The Nokia 3210, made by Nokia (hardly a suprise) who are a top name in the market has many features which make the phone worthwhile.

Address book:

Yes all phones have a feature like this but the 3210 has space for 200 numbers in, if you can fill this in then are a very popular person. You can choose several ways of viewing them, i.e Names, Names and Numbers, or Names in a large font. You can also assign different ringing tones to each name in the book.

Text Messages:

The Nokia 3210 has a feature called ’predictive typing’. Somewhat cheasily the example given in the book is pressing 66542 (each key once). Now on a normal phone this would bring up the odd word of ’mmjga’ - now if you can tell me what it means you obviously are not referring to the English language. Yet the Nokia 3210, provided the function is turned on, whil display ’Nokia’. This works for all commonly used words, and if the word is not recognised you can add it to your personal dictionary. This feature can also be turned off if it gets you confused.

Basic Features:

There are all sorts of ways of checking call related features, such as length of all calls, cost of all calls (and last call for each of these), last dialed and recieved numbers and missed calls, all can be brought up within 10 seconds. The pin number is easy to change and personalise as well. The phone also features a calculator and clock.

Games:

Nokia have the games on their phones, irritating as they can be the games on this are Sanke, Memory, and Rotation (not logic this time). Snake is the one where you control the Snake and have to pick up the blobs, memory is a game of matching pairs, and rotation is a grid of number 1-9 and you have to arrange them as they appear of a phone keypad.

Using the phone:

Making a call is simply and you can program numbers in a speed dial keys. The phone is small and lightweight, and has the option to change the fascias although at about £10 a go I don’t reccommend this. The leather case is available at £7.50 in the carphone warehous 50% off sale - it is not really worth this so dont pay anymore.

The battery life is good, just don’t play the games if you need the batteries. Talktime is about 120 minutes and standby is up to 180 hours.

My first phone, and I would certainly buy from the manufacturer again, and if the tarriff was good I would also have the phone again. Excellent buy.

N.B. I have not included a price as this is going to vary depending on the tarriff you choose.
