It's a new phone every day!

INTRODUCTION

Yesterday, being my birthday, I wanted to write a review, but I couldn’t find time for that being busy with friends. But now as I find some spare time and I keep on clicking on my new mobile, I think its time to write on Nokia 3220.

’’Its a new phone everyday’’ - that was an interesting advertisement of this model. After using Nokia 1100 for about five or six months, I had been looking for a suitable replacement for atleast a month.

Nokia 3200 and Nokia 3220 were the two possible choices, but considering the fact that 3220 got better looks (with the blinking lights on the sides), it seemed far more attractive.

3220 also seemed to have much better photo clarity and great video capturing capacity, it certainly seemed to be a better choice even if it costs Rs 1500 more. It even weighs less with better memory and display colours. It seemed to have the best value for money we give. That was the reason for not considering Motorola, LG or Samsung.

EXTREMELY USEFUL

Nokia 1100 was one of the best for first-time mobile users, but if you are looking an advanced mobile with some extremely useful features at a reasonable price of Rs 8300. The data cable for connecting to the PC has to be brought seperately.

The 65, 536-color display gives a good feeling. The blue, black and orange colours look most suitable for the phone while white fails to impress. The colour display does make a difference!

The interface of the phone is quite easy and a treat for the eyes with the great themes already in store in the phone. You can download great wallpapers, screensavers, videos, ringtones and themes not only from the phone, but also through the PC.

INTERESTING MODEL

I am now using BPL connection, but I think I should have gone with Airtel considering the GPRS option. The covers of the phones can be made manually. You can make your own wallpaper or just resize a file to 128X128 pixels in the PC and save it into the mobile. This makes using your own photo as the wallpaper simple!

There are six games stored in default - Dance DeLight, Nature Park, Water Rapids, Adventure Race, Phantom Spider and Club Pinball. Lots more can be dowloaded and played. The lights blinks not only with the tones, but also in relation to the games.

FUN UNLIMITED

The default collection of polyphonic ringtones available with the phone are massive and great to listen to. Nice themes are available with the phone too. It weighs 86 g, much less than expected. Along with the photo (with self timer) and video options, it also got the sound recorder.

The loud speaker helps us to talk with the phone at a considerable distance. But even with a wide range of features, the flashing lights remain the most eye-catching feature of this phone. It looks perfect in darkness.

IT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

To browse the contents of the mobile in PC, I had to buy a DKU-5 cable for Rs 350 as they don’t provide it with the phone as I expected. Nokia PC Suite (available for download at nokia.com) seemed a better software to use with the phone even if there are more choices to go for.

Considering the features, this mobile seemed to be the best available in its class. The body of the mobile is not easily available here, may be because not many people seems to use the phone (just five reviews on this model).

But as the price has lowered now, the situation may change and this mobile may bring Nokia far more customers.....I think that there are lots more about this mobile and I will update as soon as I find anything more.
