A phone for the teens

Ya,

I am not going to say about all the features of the phone , you can refer to the reviews written earlier or just browse the nokia site ( https://nokia.co.in/nokia/0, , 59884, 00.html ) for that.

I just switched on to this set after the old nokia 3530 gave me a good, loyal standing service for years .i felt a digital camra in hand is worth 10 in mobiles and to watch and listen movies or music I have pc /tv and other appliances, so I settled for this one with these kind of features packed but just at its working end, the price, never burnt a h ole in my pocket....5800/- was quite light for the light phone.

its a phone I feel truely suits the teenagers.Though I left that age long back, still I adored the looks of it.the synchronised side lighting (i set it on and off to suit the environments I am into), the preset ringtones (funky, cool, punk or whatever u call) can even be replaced all by any ringtone of your choice if you do not like them.....no restriction on deletion and the length (im having the hotel california playing for 6min 24 seconds).the phone supports ’.3gp’ format.

there is a choice of themes...even these are replacable, the rubber coated padded body...good for surviving a fall (it does happen often....is not it?)...makes it quite usable.

yes, the memory is a deterring factor. The specification says 4.5 mb internal with no option for a memory stick. But actually the phone comes up with hardly 730kb of memory free with all preinstalled themes, ringtones, galary, cliparts, screensavers etc....i deleted a few and freed it up enough to do my work.

the 5 directional key seems to be a bit hard for the finger, but its useful...ofcourse I always miss a jogdial or a similar element there.

the resolution (128X128pixel) is quite good and the camera is better than I had actually expected.

the use of easy data transfer makes ur backup works a breeze and u can do upload and download of data throught the pc suite as you like.even you can read your sms in the pc and send a reply or just forward it.synchronising is not a big problem at all with it.

the gprs alsoworks quite well.the browser is better than the previous versions...still it doesnot support frames though.

i got it quite recently, may be in near future I will be able to observe the lacuna....but before commenting on the lacunae one must remember ..you are shelling out JUST anything between 5700/- -7000/- to get a VGA camera phone with video recording facility, funky look, hardy body, customisable covers (it packs with a stencil to create ur own cover), gprs, EGPRS, and all cool features.the ringtone is loud enough to be audible among a noise ......(even the voice dialling worked in the middle of a heavy traffic which I didnot expect to work that well, frankly)and all other cool features are also quite compliant.

i am a new user of this phone, so I am not recommending it yet....but I will tell my friends to have a look at it for sure while planning about a new set in a budgetted situation.
