I purchased a Nokia 3315 in September 2002. I purchased it as it was the best deal considering the price and features. I had seen the ads and few of my friends also told me that it was better than the 3310. However the difference was the 3315 came with a lighter lithium Ion battery.
Its been 15 months and Iam in love with my 3315. I know there are a slew of models in the market with a lot of flashy gadgets and accessories, but this ones my first love. True, It has no camera, No color display, and no polyphonic ringtones too. But for a no nonsense communication, trust me, its the best.
I love technology and all the techie stuff, but use my cellphone for voice calls and messaging only. So I dont miss the camera or the color display or the polyphonic ringtones. It has a relatively modern design, has an alarm clock, reminder, stopwatch, countdown timer and currency converter if you need one.Profiles allow for personalization of the Screensavers and Ringing Tones on your phone
One interesting feature is the voice tags that many new Nokia models do not come with. say your friends name and assign his number to the tag. then push the button at the center and say his name!! if its the same voice, it dials it!!
One can store up to 8 tags. I love the keys too. You can use the phone with just one hand. However, it would have been better without the clicks!!! The games are good. For someone like me , who has hardly the time to play, its more than enough. One can store upto 250 names, around 24 messages and can edit/create pictures too. Can send and receive ringtones and picture messages. If you are creative enough, you can create your own ringtone.
What else does one need in a basic Cell phone?? All I wish is for the white backlight that the new models come with!!! Easy to own, easy to use and easy to maintain. Nokia definitely has kept people connected with this one.
