Nokia 3315
If you’ve seen / used the Nokia 3310, then you’re already aware of many of the features. Here are some new features / differentiators:
Picture Editor
Big deal! I found it complicated and spent too much trying to figure out how to ’create’ a picture message (ultimately gave up). This should not be a compelling feature to make you buy the Nokia 3315.
Auto Key-guard
A nice and handy feature to prevent accidental dialing.
Lithium Ion battery
This, I feel, is the key differentiator. As compared to the Nokia 3310, there is significant reduction in the weight and considerable gains in talk-time.
Keypad
If you’re an SMS-addict, this phone is for you. The ergonomic design of the keypad is a boon for ’’Power SMSing’’. (I use both hands to type!)
Express-on cover
I’m not too kicked about the over-all look of the phone and the (lack of) color options (I was ’forced’ to buy green, but cos I’m color-blind, it looks like grey to me :-)
My Recommendation
An excellent entry-level phone, currently available for Rs.5799/- (with bill and 1 year warranty). Go for it.
