Why did I buy a Nokia 3350?Well to be honest, being a novice in buying mobile phones, this privilege was given to a cousin by me and his choice was..well nokia 3350.Reason:Nokia is said to be the most user friendly brand and 3350 was new in the market, at the same time not exuberantly priced.To add to that, there were these features like picture editor meant for the creative soul(that’s me).
It was love at first sight with the blue 3350, agreed not the slimmest or lightest(weighs a hefty 108 gms) but truly a wonderful phone in every sense.First reason being its a Nokia phone, and yes, what they say about user-friendliness is very true!
Lets get to the features.
Messaging: As far as the messaging system goes, its pretty decent, with a T9 dictionary as well, and the biggest difference(read advantage)being that the length of the SMS can be a whopping 459 characters..can’t believe your eyes??Very few phones have this allowable message length..so write you heart out!Also there’s a chat feature which makes it easier to communicate with that special someone.Add to it many smiley options and the usual templates..this phone has it all!
Profiles:Be whatever you want..make your own creative profile, this phone has an option of making 4 profiles(2 others reserved for silent and general)This option allows you to personalise each profile with a variety of ringtones, for calls and messaging.The exciting part here is the PROFILE LOGO which is a type of screensaver.3350 has loads of logos to choose from, included some animated ones..cute!Another interesting feature is the RHYTHMIC BACKLIGHT ALERT due to which the lights of the phone ’dance’ to the tune when the phone rings.Really cool.
Composer:This is the feature if you want to have a little fun with your tunes(by the way the phone has 36 inbuilt tunes and 7 downloadable ones).You can edit the existing tune to your taste or create a totally new one.However this can be done only for downloadable tunes.
Picture Editor:Ah!This is the area where the phone really scores.Apart from the inbuilt pictures, there’s 1 empty space for creating your own picture(draw anything you like)And this picture can be used as a screensaver too!Aint that cool and creative??
Games:3350 has 6 games, Snake II, Space Impact, Dance 2 Music(a different one in itself), Bumper(for the fans of Pinball), Link 5 and Magic Draw.Pretty decent collection.
Miscellaneous:It has other features like calculator(comes pretty handy), reminders(you can set the SMS as a reminder too, to avoid typing it again and again), clock with alarm, countdown timer, stopwatch etc.It has a WAP browser too.
Apart from these, there are speed dial options, keylock settings, voice tag options, all very useful.Also one can download ringtones, operator logos, so the fun never stops.If you are the type of person who gets bored easily, this phone won’t let you down what with its screensavers, logos, profiles
, picture editor..see what I mean?
Cons:There’s the downside of bulkiness compared to the other phones in the market these days, but a tiny con in the ocean of pros.
Finally:To sum it up, this is a real value for money phone, ideal for creative people, or those who want MORE for Less.Who says good things in life are expensive huh?
