I purchased this phone last weekend for my wife to replace her Nokia 3310. I got some chance to fiddle around with it and give you some insight on this Beauty.
First Impression: This phone really rocks,
General It is Nokia’s latest budget priced mobile phone with a color screen. Priced at about US$ 140, it is within reach of a price conscious user. The phone resembles Nokia 3310 in shape but is slightly taller. The ON/OFF switch remains on the top but the looks are largely enhanced compared to its predecessor. The phone body (casing) is made of a more flexible translucent material that gives some sort of ruggedness to it. The phone also has an attractive lighting below its casing which flashes when you receive a call.
Screen Color Screen (96 x 65 Pixel) and supports 4096 colors. The resolution may not be as good as the higher end Nokia models but it is definitely better than the 256 color screens of Ericsson’s T68 series. I found the screen to be reasonably good. It could display color images that I transferred to the phone quite well.
Wallpaper function allows you to personalize the phone with a beautiful image of your own choice. The Phone automatically switches into screen saver mode to display digital clock when not in use.
Internet WAP over GPRS, This can be a plus point if GPRS in your area is relatively cheap of offered free by some carriers.
Messaging MMS (Multi Media Messaging) is supported on the Phone. You can share images and ring tones with your friends using the MMS service.
Games The phone supports Java games. It comes with three games and an option to download much more. The Phone has a free memory of about 680 kb. An average Java game takes about 30 – 40 KB. I am not much of a game guy but the games closely resemble the games on my Son’s Nintendo Gameboy.
The only feature that I would have liked to see on this phone was some way to transfer images or ring tone from a PC. This phone does not support any input method such as infrared or direct cable connection. If you look around in the internet, you will find some free websites which offer to send mms messages one such website is https://nowmms.com I was able to sign up and send MMS messages with attachments to my phone and later save it.
Overall I recommend this phone to anyone who wants to add some color into his or her life. Smile at their near and dear ones from their mobile screen. The phone comes with loads of features with a very attractive price.
