I was a celebrity in my college as the only guy without a mobile ;). I always wanted to buy a mobile with my first salary... for the past 3 years, I have been waiting for that day. It was a dream of mine to buy best cell in the market. But, with just 8000/- bucks... I cudn’t have the best in the world, nor cud I wait for one more month, as I was anyway getting restless. But, I was sure that no matter what.. I will buy a coloured screen and I WON’T buy the common 3530. But...Alas!!!

It all started with 2 months of exhaustive search on internet, mobile dealers/ gallery’s, friends and advertisements. Finally, I settled down for Nokia 3530 @ 6400 /- (without bill and warranty). I purchased it during Feb 2004, from Sagar Arcade , Pune.
Story
I had trust on only two brands Nokia and Motorola. While browsing on https://nokia.com, I came across Nokia 6100, 6610 and 6800. I was literally drooling on them and wished to give one of them as main role in movie of my life. But, when I enquired about their prices...I realised that a small producer like my can’t afford BigB, Shahrukhs and Hritiks with 8000/-
Then, I started evaluating options at Motorola. Finally, I zeroed down to C 350 and C 550. Both were exactly similar, just C 550 had camera. I was getting C 350 for 5500/- and C 550 for 8500/-. Since , I already had a digicam..so C 550 was ruled out. Now the only option remained C 350. Next morning, I was planning to buy it.

That night 3530 came to my dreamz unlimited. It said ’’Amit , you are biased!! You have not evaluated me as a possible option. Just bcoz , I am common.. you are discarding me!! Tell me..WHY NOT ME!
I said ’’dude..you are huge and bulky. Also , I dont like ur dial pad..it looks so YUCK’’
3530 said ’’I am not bulky but sturdy. You’ll have better voice quality on me. My dial pad might not look good, but aesthetically I look better than C 350. Have you seen me in my blue dress?’’
And I woke up... I was just wondering what happened yesterday night. When I reahed my dealer, he said ’’Sir, why don’t you try this... Nokia ka brand name bhi acha hai’’. 3530 was smiling at me in its blue outfit. My heart skipped a beat, and my eyes twinkeled... ’’Ya, bhaiya..gimme this’’.

Final words
Pros
I am completely satisfied with the performance of 3530. Amazing voice clarity and ease to use. One can store approx 30 msges. Contact can be stored in Phone memory. Total memory 812 kb. More than one number can be stored on a name. Also, email and postal address can be stored. Facility of fixed, speed and voice dialing enabled. Battery needs to be recharged every alternate day.
Cons
Not many... It is bulky and I hate its dial pad. Typing sms is not very comfortable. Debut Artist I did a big mistake by not evaluating options of Samsung. You can find SGH-C-100 and SGH-X-100 for 6.5k and 7k respectively. Many of my friends have bought it recently. I am not sure bout their performance but aesthetically they look better and sleekier than Nokia 3530.
