Let me give out few details about the NOKIA 5030.....aka.....xpress radio,
I bought this cell @ UNIVERCELL , Bangalore 8 months back for 1700/-(MRP+VAT) + 150/-(theft insurance)=1850/- totally. Even though I have recommended this fone in my review I would urge the readers to check out the new NOKIA 2690(bluetooth, Musicplayer, MMS, EMAIL for just 2600/- mrp) however for those guys who r interested in this phone here r my comments:
>>> I choose black & red color...as it is very stylish compared to the full black color makes it look dull & old.The most best feature of this cell is the express radio, i, e u need not connect headphones as a small speaker @ the back is loud enough to hear.
>>> It has separate buttons on its side to Switch the radio ON/OFF but this sometimes becomes a problem when u try to take it out of ur pocket & accidentally switch the Radio ON & this happens even if u have put the phone in Silent Mode, better u have ur key pad locked but be careful while answering calls !!
>>>The access to menus is simple & not much different from basic nokia sets....The themes are computer graphics but not very appealing....Nokia 1661, 1662 have much better quality real life themes.
>>>The fone is Robust however the opening of the back-panel surely is a circus act !!! unlike usual nokia phones where u have to just slide/push the back panel to access the battery, this fone needs different tactics to open it & it is shut so tightly that there is A GOOD CHANCE OF BREAKING OR DAMAGING BACK PANEL IN AN ATTEMPT TO OPEN IT !!!
>>>The key pad is a study polymer sheath & the letters/numbers are not printed but are rather engraved so there is NO RISK of them getting ERASED due to constant usage. The problem is that these number/letter are not divided into seperate keys but are actually on a single plane...so when u r texting u may often End up typing the adjoining key, IT TAKES TIME TO GET USED TO THE KEYS.
>>>The battery is same as the one found in nokia N95 & 1100....I think its BLC-something...the BATTER LAST FOR 3-4 FULL days provided u don’t use radio. The RADIO CLARITY IS NOT AS GOOD AS SONY ERICSON however the reception is fairly good.
>>> The fone is a good buy ....what I like about Nokia is that unlike other brands like SONY ERICSON, SAMSUNG etc NOKIA MANUFACTURES AFFORDABLE CELLPHONES TO COMMON MAN & MIDDLE CLASS & they never compromise quality......but software bugs are of a common nuisance in nokia phones & the Nokia Care centre people only service more expensive nokia fones.
