At last, after one week of booking, it came into my hand.
The only thing I didnt like is the screen cover they provide with the phone. It is all printed with the lines and shortcut icons which makes the screen hard to read. But I removed it the same day and got the screen laminated. It enhanced the display quality.
Now lets get to the features of phone. It includes 3.2 inch touch screen which has good response but not as good as iphone but I am pleased that at least tried to go as far as near to iphone. It also features a 3.2 megapixel camera but I dont think it is as good as Nokia N73. Then I tried video recording and I was very happy with that because recording was 30FPS(Frames per second)with maximum resolution of 640*320 which was amazing to view on tv with provided TV out cable.
When it comes to browser, it cant dissappoint anyone. It featured HTML/xHTML browsing with active flash player that means it plays animations while browsing pages. This was previously in Nokia E90. I say its browser is better than nokia N95, N95 8GB and also iphone3gs. It also supports you tube which iphone doesnt so they have given extra software for it in iphone. Also it can browse all videos in youtube where apple iphone can play only videos which are only made available to apple by youtube owners.
Moving on to gallery, Nokia 5800 is far behind iphone in browsing images, Touch swiping is not as smooth as iphone and zooming in nokia takes ages. The people who are expecting pinch to zoom in and out in nokia shouls be dissappointed because it doednt features multi-touch(Apple has patent for this technique so no one can use it), so you have to use volume keys or slider on touch screen to use zoom feature. Further Videos are also mixed up with images in the phone which, I think is not good feature because its hard to differentiate between images and videos because it supports a one page gallery as sony ericsson not rotating one as in N95 and N73.
Now, the feature for which it has been made, Music. I think nokia has achieved the sound quality of sony ericsson. No disturbances at full volume in speakers. Headphones provided are similar to N95 8GB and produced awsome sounds. There is no bass reduction through headphones and sound is crystal clear. It comes along with 219 preloaded songs by nokia which are must having songs, only problem is you cant share them because they are protected with activation key.
I was provided with an 8 GB micro SD, mini DVD, carry case, handstrap with plastic plectrum, two piece music handsfree with music controller and extra stylus in the box which I find enough for the pricetag. There was another offer with pre booking, I got Nokia headphones WH-500 Style free with it which were worth 4000 Rs. They are also amazing and produce amazing audio quality. Finally the price, It comes with apricetag of 21, 839 Rs. which is ok to me. If you are planning to buy this phone then it is worth buying. But if you have no problem with bluetooth sharing and video recording and you can spend more than 30, 000 then ill reccomend iphone but if you are touchscreen freak and a camera lover than go for nokia 5800. In the end, I think nokia hasnt made an Iphone killer yet. I expect nokia N97 to be more powerful than 5800.
