NOKIA 5800 STARTED EMITTING SMOKE DURING USE

I bought a nokia 5800 express from a mobile centre at hyderabad. it worked fine for about 2 years. While I was using the phone, it started emitting smoke. I threw the phone down and disconnected the battery. The phone even melted a bit.  I contacted Nokia care centre. They blamed me and told me that battery warranty was only for six months. Does this mean that the battery will smoke out and phone will start burning after six months. It is a dangerous product and should be avoided.

They have been troubling me for about six months now and every time they try to fix the blame on me. They collected the phone and battery from my residence and now they have not returned it till date. They have sent a message that I should collect it from their service centre at Dwarka and it has identified some incoherent fault. When asked to explain the methodology followed by the company to determine the fault...i was mailed that it was a SECRET and cannot be disclosed.

i must warn people that the battery used in the phone is dangerous. Nokia had earlier recalled all batteries due to similar problem but this battery is different. It started smoking. In case I would have just kept it the phone would have simply burnt. https://asiapacific.ca/sites/default/files/nokia_india.pdf .https://slashgear.com/nokia-recalls-46-million-cell-phone-batteries-146742/this link showed that NOKIA had earlier taken these initiatives under pressure.

NOKIA is trying to hide facts about its faulty battery and I had asked them to annotate remarks on the job card which they have not given. Photos of battery and melted phone attached.

My battery number is  4620409431M10210455;0670573. and Nokia model 5800d-1 code 0575590 type RM-356.

Please be careful while buying this battery. My service request number with NOKIA is 1-13424105231

NOKIA battery mentioned above and phone can cause grievous harm to you and your family members. I intend to pursue a litigation in public interest against them.
