I have been using the cellphones and the GPRS since 2002 and had been
using various mobile handsets of makes BenQ, LG and Sonyericsson. All
these hand sets had a common feature, that they were simple to use and
the menu and settings are formed in line with the current system
followed by the engineers in designing computers, remote control of
common domestic equipment etc. They all were compact in size, unlike
the elephant look of a Nokia, and more importantly, those companies
were very much concentrated in dealing and solving the problems faced
by the customers. I also have so far not heard of any incidents of a
mobile equipment causing fatal human injury, other than the recent
incidents among Nokia batteries. I also could select a handset of other
than Nokia at a much lesser price which is having same features.
I
bought a Nokia 6030 and am in a state of getting mad after continuously
trying to set up my Operamini in it. I got my GPRS settings from BSNL
save in the phone, and the phone is neither ready to share those
settings with Opera or allowing me to point those settings to it. The
very funny thing what I could observe is that I can read only the name
of the setting which BSNL has sent, and not to read its contents or
edit those settings.
There is found, a provision in the handset, to feed in the settings for Email. But god knows how to send or receive email.
As
usual, which had been my experience with any other reputed company, I
tried with the customer support at Nokia Website and I could receive
only a computer generated reply. No human being from Nokia has so far showed a courtessy to this customer of bad luck, to help and explain.
I think I have lost the money.
We indians have a foolish attitude in valueing a brand and blindly
following it. And the brand which we follow in the cell phone market is
Nokia.
I request all the brothers and sisters of this country, **not
to unnecessarily promote a brand, which is costly, bulky like an
elephant, too complicated like the first generation of computers and
having won the brand name, not even ready to clarify the doubt of a
customer
Following is the original complaint which I had put up to Nokia.
I
am using mobile phone for past six years now and is the first time I am
using a Nokia handset Model 6030 which was bought from Soudhi Arabia.
I am trying with that handset for the past one month and is still a headache to me for setting up operamini and email in it.
I
have never had such a terrible experience with a mobile handset based
on my experiences on Sonyericsson, LG and Samsung. Why have you made
the things too complicated ?
The status of my phone is now this :
Phone is working ok for call, sms and use of internet through its wap browser inluding sending of MMS.
But I troubles are :
1.
The operamini browser when attempted gives error that "Subscribe to
packet data", no error message and infinitly searching the request etc.
2.
I am able to view that the packet data settings which the operator has
sent me, is available in the handset. But I am not given an option to
view its contents such as ip address, APN etc.
3. Personal configuration setting has a provision to feed in data for Email. But I dont find any way to use it.
It, I feel now a trouble, for which I have paid money.
I also am hearing frightening news on Nokia batteries getting exploded even.
can you please help me.
