I would not like to sound cliché by going ga ga over a phone just because I have bought it and just for it came for a steal.
Lets look at this cell phone from a different prospective. I bought this phone for the sole purpose of having a cell since I had lost my dearest 3310. Since it was a call of emergency and I had to buy a phone immediately to keep in touch with people, I went in for a phone of the shelf which would be easy to use and serve my immediate requirement, that it had extra feature like an FM or GPRS was an extra which I did not pay much heed to. Thus I landed purchasing the Nokia 6030.
Its easy key pad, 128 x 128 pixels colour LCD with 6000+ colours, GPRS features, 300 phonebook capacity, systematic phonebook are great features which run perfectly without any problem. Similarly the MMS and SMS features are easy to use with built in dictionary for easy keying of the message. Organiser with calendar gives upto 500 entries, a great feature to remind you or make notes with dates and time to set out an alarm, calculator features is also very easy to use with short-cut keys. Its power packed battery goes on and on, I talk for about 20-30 minutes per day and need to charge the battery every fifth day.
What however lacks in this phone is the FM Radio feature. The enhancement which is normal stereo is not upto mark. The volume of both the radio as well as the ringtone is extremely low and I have missed peoples call every time I have the cell in my trouser pocket. Similarly the vibration is nothing like 3310 which guaranteed to vibrate you out from the sleep.
Further, the third pary download has had a bit of problem. I downloaded a Java game which sometime hangs up. Not sure if its because of the cell or because the game has some bugs.
This is overall a good phone for the price, which has recently dropped to below 4K bracket. However, its inapt sound feature makes me wonder if this cell really is a Nokia make. I just cannot understand why Nokia gave this phone a step sisterly treatment in this particular department. Is this really Nokia?
