Reliance welcomes the new generation

This review is not so much about the beauty of this handset. It’s more about how great an option this hand-piece is, as compared to CDMA monstrosities like LG’s RD2310.Great battery life. With ample daily usage, the 6235’s BL-6C Li-ion battery lasts for atleast 2 days without recharging. This is fantastic, compared to the earlier Reliance CDMA models, whose battery discharged after every 30 minute call. Another clear advantage, is that since its Nokia, re-charging the phone is very much plug-and-play, i.e., you don’t need a custom-made charger, and you can make use of other handset’s chargers in case your’s is not available at a particular time. New-age features like WAP 2.0 Browser, joystick keypad design with 5-way scroll, infrared with picture exchange, integrated VGA camera and video/voice recorder, and an integrated lanyard slot make this model’s design ultra-cool. The only major disadvantage of this model is memory. With a maximum capacity of 16 MB, you can store a lot of MIDI ringtones, notes, Java games and a few pictures, but not much else. You cannot use this handset as an alternative to portable mp3 players, as you can’t store many songs on it. You cannot make use of the latest memory chips(upto 4 GB capacity) for mobiles, because this handset does not support such upgradation. The phone is so sleek and trendy, that many people have difficulty accepting it as a Reliance CDMA. Nokia accessories and add-ons are also a plus point.

If you are looking for a Nokia CDMA handest with slightly better Megapixel camera, and more memory, I suggest the Nokia 6275, although its a lot more expensive.

Apart from that, the 6235 has everything the average mobile user would ever need for daily/common usage. Available nowadays for close to 6, 000 INR(bargain), its an excellent phone at low cost.
