Grand scale...

First of all, the picture you see on the left top corner for the review purpose, is not Nokia 6270, but Nokia 6111, little sister of the mentioned set.

I was thinking of purchasing 6630, a good camera handset with good features, but was suggested to buy 6270 by my friends, mentioning as value for money, despite it being a bit costly (16, 300.00, on cash purchase)

I could not agree with my friend more, IT IS a brilliant set, with highest density camera (2 MPx), meaning you can get much clearer pictures, and can zoom into with 6x digital zoom, while taking photo, and later 4x zoom into snapped picture itself on your camera screen (very big, and classy looking). (Please don’t compare the picture zoom to digital cameras, which can produce much clearer picture, but for camera phone, this set is surpassing many at the moment)

If you don’t fancy camera, still there is a lot to hook onto, one feature which is found in none other set (brand span too), is dual speaker, individual to each other, and producing stereophonic effect of songs/tones/voice, with crystal clear effect. you can listen a car zoom past your one ear to another if you hold the handset in front of your face (normal position of holding a handset), if this can make the jargon clear to you guyz.

It supports 512 MB card (part of deal), which means nearly one cd full of data (one cd is approx 620 MB), can support wide variety of song codec, although preferred would be mp3 being smaller sized files.

If this is not enough, then the slick design, and beautiful sliding of number-pad makes this even worth-drooling phone. I had been complimented for the phone by complete strangers, multiple times (ego boost... heh heh heh...)

It did burn my heart to spend 16k for the phone, but the ego massage and song quality made up for the heartburn.

Bad news is the music player and MMS burn the battery very bad, but true to Nokia style, it lasts 1 full day even with heavy use of music and media player (yup, it plays video too, now thats a point for some naughty minds... (’!’) )

If the phone is used in moderation then the battery will do for little more than 1 day with medium to heavy use of phone and regular features.

The phone is loaded with IR, Bluetooth and PC synchronization, to load and change the contents of memory on regular basis for free. (be cautious to use bluetooth, there are loads of virus in the air, but it can be cured for free, by Nokia service centre, if you hold the warranty)

Its compatible with Motorola, Sony-Er, other than Nokia phones for bluetooth and IR reception, as I checked, with out any problem (against some of the older model of Nokia, which does not recognize files from motorola)

I am yet to use the phone for sometime before a better first-hand-gyan can be passed on to all readers.

till then...

happy reading
