Prologue
I had been using Panasonic Mobiles (2 Sets) and when I decided to change / upgrade my Cell Phone, I thought of trying the Nokia Mobile (because of its extensive reach) and thats when my doom started.
Bought the Nokia 6270 because of its rave looks and features and was just launched at the time. But after I bought it dawned on me that Looks esp. the good looks can be very deceptive. Everyone who saw my Mobile praised it on the good looks alas how could I tell them that I wasted 18, 000.00 on it.
The problems with the Nokia 6270:
- Automatic & Repeated Switch Off / Switch On / Phone Hanging even if using only the Music Player for the prolonged time. Not able to handle multiple applications at the same time.
When ever tried to synchronise the Data with the PC it failed in the first few attempts and only after repeted efforts was able to achieve some and that too improper sync.
Excessive heating up of the Handset / Battery and Charger while charging. This problem also come when you are on a call (continuous call) for more than 45 minutes.
Standby time and talk time not even 50 % of the proclaimed.
Photo Caller ID but the photograph was a miniscule version of the original one and also set into a corner, you need a microscope to identify who is calling.
Call Register Problem - if I get a call from an unknown number and if the same number gets registered into any two call registers (i.e. Dialled / Missed / Received) and after you save the number from one of the Call Registers to the Memory the other call register doent get updated and leads to the confusion.
2 MP Camera - resolution is good but the images some how get a Yellowish tint and after few months slight blurring of images occurs. And moreover, it takes eternity to generate the images after clicking.
FM / Music Player - prolonged use of either leads to unstable behaviour of the handset and moreover I fail to understand when we can switch on the Music Player w/o head set connection why cant we switch on the FM Radio. FM reception wasnt upto the mark as proclaimed.
GPRS - you need a lot of effort in intialising the sevice as even after reloading the settings a number of times most of the time it gave the error message "Check Connection Settings" and only after a lot of effort you can initialise the service.
Mettalic Set - everything is good except the Center / Navigation Buttons - its polish got weaned after a two months
PC Synchronisation - I wasnt able to achieve this in the first attempt and I had to connect / disconnect the USB Cable infinite number of times to achieve a sync. It also doesnt synchronise the info from the SIM that means you have to save everything on the phone and no contacts on the SIM Card
Memory Card - not able to support memory card of 512MB or more as the performance downgardes considerably. Accessing the files on the Memory Card always took a longer and frustrates the user. Also while getting files from another mobile thru Bluetooth / Infra red it always ended in the default folder and there was no way you can bypass, it becomes a problem when you are getting large files cause the phone memory is miniscule 10 MB (usable only 7.8 MB or so)
And last but not the least NOKIA CARE
Nokia Care sucks enormously, firstly my Headset was damaged and I am yet to get the replacement and that was 90 Days ago and moreover it has increased my agony cause I lost (unrepairable) the set also. Also, the guy sitting at the Nokia Care told me in no uncertain terms that "YOU HAVE BOUGHT THE NOKIA HANDSET AND SO NOW FACE THE MUSIC" i.e. I have committed a sin by purchasing the NOKIA Product and he will not do anything to atone me.
And lately, my Nokia Handset has been declared unrepairable of the above mentioned problems and somehow the Warranty has also been decalred Null & Void cause the Handset was not able to sustain the AC / Non - AC atmosphere and got a slight hint of the moisture inside.
In a Nutshell
If you have got some EXTRA Mullah to spend and forget, buy this set otherwise BEWARE.
