As a Nokia user for the past nine years I have never had cause for complaint. Unfortunately, my purchase of the 6270 has drastically changed my opinion of the company. The phone suffers from a number of flaws that can be broadly categorized into 2 categories:
Software
The phone reboots automatically once I begin using the on-board browser for the internet. A black screen followed by my phone restarting has happened probably once out of every four times I have used the internet. To the credit of the phone it does not happen if I use the GPRS via infra-red and my computer.
While talking on the phone I sometimes get a tinny metallic sound that makes me sound like I am dying (as described by people I have spoken to later about it). This happens on an average of twice for every 12-15 calls without exaggeration.
Phone Build
The phone retains its slide spring for the intial period. I was so gung-ho about Nokia that I ignored warnings of unreliability in a mechanical device with a constantly moving part. Nokia has not been able to accomplish this yet. The sliding part does not match exactly back to the phone body and is rattly.
I purchased the phone 5 or 6 months back and I am unhappy to report that all the menu / navigation buttons have stopped working. I shall be going this weekend to attempt a replacement (perhaps I shall comment on their Service centre as well)
Last, the battery lasts a dismal 12 hours with regular usage which makes the last bastion of Nokias USP as a premier cellphone manufacturer crumple away like the handset.
