I purchased this model about 3 months back (Aug-02) and it hasnt given any problem so far. People say that its software crashes sometimes (esp. while SMSing), but I didnt face anything like that.
If you have to decide between 8310 & 6510, consider the following two facts:
- 8310 is an older model but looks better than 6510.
- 6510 is just an upgraded model of 8310 with outer layout changed, but its look is far inferior than 8310
I would recommend going for 6510 as it is much more stable than other counterparts and for Rs. 14, 000 its worth it.
Features that I like:
-Calender view.
-Built-in modem for mobile internet connectivity using laptops.
-Personal notes and credit card information stored securely proctected by password.
-Higher resolution screen compared to 6210 or 3310 along with blue backlight which is more soothing than regular green ones.
-Longer standby time: on an average 6-8 days. (I recharge every sunday)
-Pretty compact: Fits into the shirt pocket.
-Best navigation system using minimum keys among all the manufacturers. Nokias cellphone softwares are the most user-friendly & best ones Ive seen in the market. Just as Microsoft is to Windows systems, Nokia is to Cellphone softwares.
Features that I dislike:
-The keypad is so small that it takes sometime to get used to with single hand operation.
-Nokia could have developed a better covering... look at 8250 it is so sleek and looks excellent.
-Poor volume level for keypad & alarm funtion. Even Timer sound is louder than alarm sound. That is the reason Im forced to use Timer instead of Alarm. I even took it to Nokias service center, I dont know what they did with that but ultimately they failed to increase the alarm & keypad volume.
Suggestion:
If you think of buying this because of Blue Screen or built-in FM radio, consider 8250 or the newer ones like 7210 or 6610, or if you can afford, go for 7650-nothing can beat this. FM radio in 6510 offers mono sound whereas 6610/7210 has stereo output - FM without stereo is useless.
