I have been using this phone for the past 10 months. Its most cutest and professional looking phones in Nokia. Its amazing features which do not come packed as one piece in relatively newer phones of Nokia. Its got WAP, GPRS, FM Radio, Large storage space, pleasing blue colour back light, easily accessable keys, Conference calls, and very small and compact in size.
However, its quite sluggish in opening messages and unlocking the key pad. I feel just because of this reason, its not a favourite to all despite its features and size. Considering just this little flaw, I would recommend this phone to people for whom Size Does Matter ! The standby time is quite amazing despite using the radio. The voice recorder gives good clarity while recording voice. Another drawback of this phone is that the ring tone is not that loud enough, unlike 3310. I guess Nokia was too professional in the making of this phone.
They could have slightly increased the volume. I was using 3310 before getting myself a Nokia 6510, hence in the initial stages, I had quite a few missed calls due to low volume of the ring tone. This happens when you are not near by the handset. I could find one another benefit from 6510 when compared to 3310 is that, I could store more number of phone numbers, personal reminders and messages.
I being practically benefitted by the large memory. I hardly use the Wallet feature, hence I have nothing to comment on that. The processing speed needs to be pepped up and if thats corrected, THIS IS THE BEST handset. Personally speaking, I do not find any difference in the functionality between 8310 and 6510. I find 6510 more professional than 8310. However, 8310 is the only handset in the lower end to have a white back light. The newer models of Nokia provides a white back light such as 2210.
Usually the white back light comes only in the higher end models. This handset is worth its value and one can blindly go for it for its features !
