Not that ultimate upgrade

I got a 6510 coupla months ago thinking it was the best upgrade I’d done to my samsung r220. But that wouldnt be so. I started liking Nokias when I first xchanged my phone for few days with a friend of mine, the nokia 3330. The user interface of nokias is unbeatable when compared even with the new panasonics.

My other option was the 8250 which I still consider value for money. The 8250 is less heavier and more slimmer than the 6510. All because of a FM stereo I heard, cant believe it! Of course you have all the new 83** which are more trndier, but I refrain from too many colors!

I was initially disappointed to find that I cudnt send ring tones over SMS with my 6510. For non nokia fans, this is possible with the ring tone composer which is absent in 6510. However you can do it over infrared if you have a laptop. Now thats a long shot. I havent found too much use of the infrared except for the two player game which again is too tough to play (with a unidirectional wireless what more can we expect).

Screen saver; who wouldnt like pictures and other freak stuff on their phones. Animated ones are absent in 6510, so if you are a samsung user this could be disappointing too.

The best thing about the 6510 however is its battery time. I am really amazed at it. At peak talk weeks, I charge it once a week, now thats an absolute non consumer! Its signal catching strength is commendable as with most of the other nokias.

Advanced calendar in 6510, they boast. That aint impress me much. With true non nokia style, the user interface is tough and look up is impossible without starting at a date. I wonder who’d use it.

Other notable improvements are timed profiles and auto keypad lock. I like both of them and use every instant of time. The resolution is also better compared to lower nokias.

The FM quality is good, however with access to FM every bit of the way (in my car, in my house and in my office) I see no use for it except perhaps while waiting in line to book my train ticket.

Overall I am happy with my upgrade, though am disappointed with it not being an ultimate one.
