I used to own a Nokia 7650 which I bought for almost 29, 000/- last October. It was a very cool phone. I must have clicked over 3, 000 pictures of my family and friends in this time. Then I started to get bored of it and decided to buy in exchange for my old phone the new Nokia 6600 which is currently almost every second ad on TV.
So last week I went to my grey market guy and he gave the phone to me for Rs. 22, 500/- and deducted 10, 000/- for my old 7650 (w/out charger, box, cd). Trust me this is a huge upgrade from the Nokia 7650 in terms of ease of use, sms handling, 2x zoom on the camera, large memory, quality of colours and the speed of opening applications.
If you want to use this phone as a fashion statement and just make and receive calls, then good for you, but if you want to make full use of all the features like GPRS, camera, video recorder then all the more better!
The best part I liked about the Nokia 7650 was the extended log of calls (incoming / outgoing/sms/GPRS), but this log is even better with advanced filtering, so you can know how much communication was done with a particular person throughout the entire month, including sms (inward and outward). This really helps with cutting down the bill at the end of the month.
The other part I liked is the SMS write feature. In other Nokias we had to go to the address book to enter the name of the person we wanted to write to. Here with the 6600, you just enter the character i.e. na and start typing away. When its time to send, the phone presents you with a list of all people whos names and surnames begin with na. You select and the message is delivered instantly.
Overall this phone is a good deal for the price. But if you wait for your birthday to come next year, prices will have dropped even further!!
